Summer of 2025 | SCMA Certified Ride | First Finisher for 2025 !
Every good ride has a purpose — and for the summer of 2025, mine’s a big one: the Great Lakes Cabot Trail Tour, a cross-border adventure through some of the most scenic, historic, and downright legendary routes in North America. This ride will check all the boxes for the Southern California Motorcycle Association (SCMA) certification.
🗺️ The Route & Highlights – approx. 8000 miles round trip with extras along the way.
Perry Monument – Presque Isle Peninsula, PA. Kicking things off at Lake Erie’s edge, where history and the open horizon set the tone for what’s ahead.
Sodus Bay Lighthouse and Museum – NY
A classic Great Lakes beacon that’s stood watch for generations — perfect for a photo and a quick dose of nostalgia.
Whiteface Mountain Summit – Lake Placid, NY. Climbing up through twisty mountain roads to one of New York’s highest peaks. The view? Worth every curve.
Lake Champlain Ferry – NY to VT
Crossing the water between states feels like stepping into another chapter of the story — with the wind, waves, and your reflection riding alongside.
Kancamagus Scenic Byway – RT 112 Lincoln to Conway, NH. “The Kanc” — a rider’s paradise. Sweeping turns, dense forest, and pure rhythm between throttle and thought.
Cabot Trail – Hwy 19, Cape Breton Island, NS
One of the most beautiful rides on the planet. Rugged cliffs, ocean spray, and miles of pure two-wheel therapy.
Four Corners Park – Madawaska, ME
The northeastern tip of the U.S. and a major milestone for any long-distance rider. The spirit of adventure lives here.
Landmark of Choice – Quebec or New Brunswick. Freedom to explore — pick your own destination and make it yours. Maybe a coastal village, a local café, or a surprise find that’s not in the manual.
The Giant Canadian Nickel – Sudbury, ON
Because who wouldn’t want to visit a massive 30-foot nickel? It’s quirky, it’s Canadian, and it’s pure road-trip fun.
Kakabeka Falls – TC11, 20 miles west of Thunder Bay, ON. Known as the “Niagara of the North,” this stop’s all about natural power — a reminder of how small and lucky we are to ride through places like this.
Split Rock Lighthouse – Hwy 61, Two Harbors, MN. Standing proud over Lake Superior, this stop is equal parts history and beauty. A true postcard moment for the journey.
Mackinac Bridge – between St. Ignace and Mackinaw City, MI. The grand finale — rolling across one of America’s most iconic bridges, suspended between two peninsulas and a thousand memories.
🐺 The Spirit of the Ride
This isn’t just a route — it’s a loop of lakes and legends. From mountain climbs to coastal breezes, from historic lighthouses to ice cream stands, it’s the kind of ride that reminds you why you fell in love with the road in the first place.
Whether it’s for the SCMA certificate or just another story to tell, this adventure is all about connection — to the land and to that inner wolf that still howls for the next sunrise ride.
