There’s riding… and then there’s riding Vermont — the Kingdom, as I call it.
Where every curve feels handcrafted, every mountain breathes on your neck, and every road makes you question just how badly you want to see what’s around the next bend.
From Derby line border crossing down the iconic VT-100, then detouring to VT-22, 30, and 116, this “mini” trip was everything: washed-out trouble spots and another set of questionable middle-of-the-night decisions.
One minute you’re rolling in the blue-gray hush of dawn… and then the sun explodes over the hills like a spotlight warming the whole valley just for you.
Vermont Roads Attack — Washouts, closures, and another dirt road – chaos Everywhere.
Of course, Vermont doesn’t just hand out beauty. She’s got a wild streak. This year’s storms ripped apart backroads like they were paper. Whole chunks of pavement gone. Parking lots cracked like broken glass. Orange cones everywhere — enough to start your own construction company.

Once past Stowe VT on VT-100 and tackling the twistiest and wildlife in the Green Mountains which is packed with classic New England charm day or night. The ride drops you right into a mix of natural beauty, small-town history, and local culture. And if you’ve got a sweet tooth, well there’s an iconic ice cream factory along the way.
