Every summer—thousands—of travelers pull into the iconic “Welcome to Nova Scotia” sign. It’s one of those must-stop places. You stretch your legs, snap the obligatory photo, smile for the camera, and continue your journey.

What almost nobody realizes…For the last year and a half, there was a hidden treasure sitting just a few feet away. Right there. Tucked beside one of the massive granite boulders that everyone walked past without giving it a second thought.

decided it was time for a well-earned adventure. They pointed their bike toward Nova Scotia—not just for the breathtaking scenery, but to hunt down a Treasure Coin that had been patiently waiting just for him. Over a year and a half earlier, while riding through Nova Scotia, I hid a personalized Treasure Coin canister beside the famous Welcome Sign. Inside were challenge coin, keepsakes, a few fun trinkets, and memories waiting to be discovered. The location was locked for him to know only with the GPS coordinates in hand.

Then Mother Nature decided to help guard the secret. Winters later, several feet of Nova Scotia snow completely buried the hiding spot. The little canister sat quietly through freezing temperatures, blizzards, and spring thaws while countless visitors stopped only feet away. Families, tourists, motorcyclists, and road trippers all lined up for that perfect Welcome Sign photo…never knowing a treasure was hiding right under their noses.

Finally, summer arrived and Craig began search among the familiar granite rocks. Just moments later…

Bingo. Mission accomplished.

Traveling over 1800 miles from home to Nova Scotia – a year and a half of waiting had finally paid off.
