There are actually FIVE Treasure Coins hidden throughout the Keystone State, each with its own story, and riddle waiting to unfold. Some are easy, some will have you scratching your head, and a few might leave you crawling around in the grass wondering if you’ve officially lost your mind. 😂

For Selena and Tracy, the day wasn’t even supposed to be about treasure. They left PA and headed into NJ on a mission to find Big Rusty, one of the famous giant trolls that had been sitting high on Selena’s bucket list. As riders, we’re always chasing unique destinations, and this towering wooden giant was calling her name.

Both Selena and Tracey rolled down the road, they passed Stars & Stripes Harley-Davidson in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. That’s when the day took an unexpected detour. Selena knew one of my Treasure Coins was hidden there.

“I know there’s a coin here… and I’m going to find it.”

Challenge accepted.

Armed with nothing more than the riddle, they began circling the dealership, studying every corner, rereading every clue, and questioning every patch of grass. They laughed, guessed, backtracked, and kept hunting.

Then…a little kneeling, a little digging, a little dirt under the fingernails—Success! Treasure Coin #27 was finally in her hands! Inside the canister were all the little surprises that make these hunts so much more than simply finding a container—a personalized keepsake, challenge coin, and a few treasures that turned an ordinary stop into a memory they’ll never forget.

What started as a day of troll hunting suddenly became a day of treasure hunting. And somehow, they managed to find both.

🌲 The Story Behind Big Rusty

The giant troll Selena and Tracey set out to find is Big Rusty, one of six massive sculptures created by internationally renowned Danish artist Thomas Dambo. Dambo has become famous around the world for transforming reclaimed wood, pallets, and recycled materials into enormous trolls, each with its own personality and story. His “Trolls: Save the Humans” project encourages people to reconnect with nature, explore local parks and forests, and see beauty in places they might otherwise drive right past.

Standing more than 20 feet tall, Big Rusty has quickly become one of New Jersey’s most photographed roadside attractions. It’s fitting, really.

Selena set out looking for one legendary giant made from recycled wood…and unexpectedly discovered another hidden legend buried beneath the grass.

One was impossible to miss.

The other could only be found by solving a riddle.
