Well, the hunt continues — and this time Selena struck DOUBLE treasure on Cape Breton!

She found my Monster 79 Brody Hero Coin and the extremely rare, probably-worth-at-least-37-cents-on-the-open-market MarkyMark coin! 😂 Both had been hiding for more than a year beneath the moss at one of the most recognizable stops on Cape Breton:

The World Famous Cabot Trail sign.

And the way Selena found them makes this one even better.

“Are You Looking for the Coins?”

So Selena is poking around the sign, digging through the grass and flower bed like any respectable treasure hunter would, when the store owner notices what she’s doing.

He asks: “Are you looking for the coins?”

Selena’s basically like…

Ummm… yeah? Why? 😂

And without missing a beat, he tells her:

“They’re under the moss!”

ROFL!!! 🤣🤣🤣

I can only imagine this guy watching people come and go for two years knowing those little tins were still sitting there.

Nope… not them.

Nope… they’re just taking a picture.

Still there…

Then Selena finally shows up digging around the sign and he’s probably thinking: FINALLY! THE COIN PEOPLE HAVE ARRIVED! 😂🪙

That’s a story in itself.

🏍️ An Piece of the Cabot Trail

That giant blue-and-yellow “World Famous Cabot Trail” sign has become one of those must-stop photo spots for riders traveling Cape Breton.

The Cabot Trail is roughly 185 miles, winding around northern Cape Breton through coastal communities, mountains, valleys and Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The route was completed in 1932 and became one of the island’s signature scenic drives.

For motorcycle riders especially, standing beneath that giant sign is one of those:

“Yep… I made it here.” moments.

And then there are the stickers.

That sign has become a rolling scrapbook of riders, clubs, rallies and travelers who’ve passed through over the years. Everybody leaves behind a tiny piece of their journey.

Which brings us to Selena’s other extremely important discovery…

Look waaaaaay up there.

Apparently when I placed that sucker, I understood the three most important rules of sticker real estate:

Location. Location. ALTITUDE. 😂

And Knight Train… nice try, buddy. I see you creeping into the upper neighborhood. But MarkyMark still has the high ground! 🤣

💙 But This Find Is Really About Brody #29

All the joking aside, this is why I planted these coins in the first place.

Every Monster 79 Hero Coin represents one of our boys and carries a little piece of their story.

I purposely left them at places worth finding — places where another rider or explorer might stop, hunt around, discover something new and hopefully learn about the hero behind the number.

Thousands of people have probably stood underneath that Cabot Trail sign since I hid Brody’s coin.

They’ve taken pictures.

They’ve slapped stickers on the sign.

They’ve climbed back on their motorcycles and continued down the road.

And all that time, beneath a little patch of moss…

Brody was waiting. 💙

That’s pretty damn cool when you think about it.

The coin isn’t really the treasure.

The kid behind the number is.

The coin just gives us another way to carry his story farther down the road.

So Selena — GREAT FREAKING FIND! 👊🪙🏍️

You found Brody & MarkyMark coins and you apparently entertained a store owner who’s been patiently waiting for somebody to finally start digging through “his” moss.

And, perhaps most importantly, you documented something that must now be preserved for the historical record:
