Of all the treasure coins I planted, Ken Andrew’s “GO HOME KEN” coin may have had the funniest assignment of them all. I literally buried a coin with his road name on the outside announcing to the world to GO HOME…and then left the poor thing hanging around Hopewell Rocks in New Brunswick waiting for somebody to finally send it packing. 😂

Alex and Nichole, checked the tide, saw hundreds of tourists, workers nearby and thought, “Yep…seems like a good time to start digging.”

This one required a little hike and, more importantly, TIMING. I had tucked Ken into a covered area near the rocks where thousands of people have probably walked, stopped, rested and passed right by without ever knowing there was a little gold treasure hiding nearby screaming internally, “FOR THE LOVE OF GOD…SOMEBODY SEND ME HOME!” 😂

Hopewell Rocks is one of those places where timing really does matter. The enormous Bay of Fundy tides completely transform the landscape. At low tide, you can walk the ocean floor around the famous rock formations; later, the water comes rolling back in and Mother Nature basically says, “Visiting hours are OVER. Everybody out.”

That’s exactly why I purposely made this one a little sneaky. You needed low tide, a little patience, and enough slyness to retrieve it without looking like you were conducting an unauthorized excavation at one of New Brunswick’s busiest attractions. There were workers around. Tourists were close together. This was definitely NOT some lonely patch of woods where you could casually whip out a shovel and yell, “Stand back, folks! I got this!” 😂

I can only imagine Alex and Nichole waiting for their moment. People walking past…workers nearby…everybody enjoying one of Canada’s natural wonders…and these two are probably thinking, “Okay…NOW! DIG! DIG! DIG!” 😂 And somehow they pulled it off. KEN HAS BEEN FOUND! 🪙

After surviving thousands of visitors, Canadian weather, landscaping, workers and the freaking Bay of Fundy tides, Ken Andrew’s “GO HOME KEN” treasure coin finally met the two people crazy enough to retrieve it.
