Well, folks, another one bites the dust! Or should I say…another one rises from the grave! 🪦

This time, Nancy Webb went treasure hunting in Vermont and successfully recovered Coin #69 from my nationwide Treasure Hunt Challenge! (set to official launch spring of 2027). And where did I decide to hide this little golden treasure? At the Ben & Jerry’s Flavor Graveyard in Waterbury, Vermont! Yep, you read that right. A graveyard for ICE CREAM!
For those who haven’t visited, Ben & Jerry’s actually has a cemetery dedicated to discontinued ice cream flavors. Little tombstones, funny epitaphs and flavors that have officially gone to that big freezer in the sky. You’ve got names like Boston Cream Pie and Neapolitan Dynamite resting peacefully among the dearly departed. I mean, seriously, who comes up with this stuff? Naturally, when I visited, I thought, “What better place to bury a treasure coin than somewhere already full of things that have been buried?” ROFL!

So while tourists were wandering around reading tombstones and mourning their favorite flavors, there I was checking out a little blue gazebo and thinking, “Yep…this looks like a perfectly respectable place for Coin #69 to spend some time underground.” And that’s exactly what happened!
Fast-forward to Nancy arriving on her motorcycle, following the clues and making her way through the Flavor Graveyard. Imagine the scene: tourists taking pictures of deceased ice cream flavors while Nancy is on a completely different mission.
“Sorry, folks. I’m not here to mourn the Chunky Monkey. I’M HERE FOR THE GOLD!” 😂
She tracked down the spot, did a little investigating, and BINGO! COIN #69 WAS ALIVE AND WELL!
Looking at the pictures, I had to laugh. There’s the little blue gazebo, the freshly disturbed dirt, and Nancy’s prize finally back above ground. Another one of my little treasures has officially escaped its underground accommodations!
And what makes this story even better is that I recently had the opportunity to meet up with Nancy at Ocean State Harley-Davidson in Rhode Island. We spent some time chatting and relaxing before the service department opened. No rushing, no crazy schedule, just two riders catching up and enjoying some good conversation.

Sometimes those simple moments are the best part of riding. You meet some pretty incredible people along the way, and it’s always nice when the motorcycles, the miles and sometimes these ridiculous little treasures bring people together. Every coin has a story why I placed it there, some stories told some I keep for that special hunter to know only. I hope the treasure brought a smile and perhaps a few chuckles in your day.
Nancy, congratulations on recovering Coin #69! It survived the Vermont weather, the tourists, the landscaping and an entire cemetery full of deceased ice cream flavors. But it couldn’t survive YOU!
And here’s the really important question…Did you at least get yourself some ice cream afterward?! 🍦 …. leaving without ice cream could probably be considered a crime in Vermont!
Great seeing you at Russ’s Ocean State Harley Davidson, Nancy, and congratulations again on the find!
COIN #69 HAS RISEN FROM THE DEAD! ARRRGH, MATEY — ANOTHER TREASURE IS HEADING HOME! 🏴☠️
